Improvers
For players looking to improve their tennis game. A variety of technical and tactical coaching, involving drills and game-based learning to reinforce technique, introduce basic tactics, and improve matchplay in a fun, friendly environment. Each week has a main theme and ratios are kept low to ensure as much individual attention as possible in a group setting.
Men's Practice **
For male players who represent or wish to represent the Club Teams.
Morning Tennis
For improver/intermediate level and involves 2 hours of drills, fun games, and coaching followed by social matchplay in a welcoming and friendly setting.
Member's Social Club Night
An evening for Members of Actonians to enjoy an hour of coach led exercises followed by an hour of mix in and play.
Men/Women's Team Practice
Pressure Drills
So much of coaching focuses on the technical, tactical and physical aspects of tennis but so little focuses on the mental part of the game so we have introduced pressure drills to broaden the programme. This includesmanaging stress, focus, and self-doubt, often referred to as mental toughness. It's a skill that can be trained through techniques like visualization, using performance routines between points, and developing coping mechanisms to handle mistakes and pressure. For success, a strong mental game requires trusting your skills, moving on from errors, and maintaining a strategic mindset rather than getting overwhelmed by emotions or fear.
